- Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas. Please note that non-accredited/registered assistance dogs and emotional support/other support animals are not permitted in the house.
Dogs on a lead are permitted on the tea terrace and in the grounds.
In inclement weather, well behaved dogs on leads are permitted in a designated area of the tea room. They are not permitted in the servery
Our closest railway stations are Glynde (approximately 2miles) and Lewes (approximately 4 miles)
The 125 bus stops just off the A27 near the gate to Firle Place. There is no bus service on a Sunday. For more information about timetables visit bustimes.org
We have ample free car parking on the grass within a short walk of the house
A rack is provided for bicycles to be chained up in the car park
Yes, there are three spaces closest to the house, on the left hand side of the drive. All parking is on grass. There is no requirement for a blue badge.
The ground floor is accessible to wheelchair users for whom tickets are half the usual adult price. Due to the limitations of this Grade I listed building we regret there is no lift and therefore no access to the first floor.
Due to the fragility of flooring and furniture we are unable to admit powered/battery wheelchairs
For adults who require the assistance of a carer, the accompanying carer receives free entry. Book one ticket on-line and request free carer ticket on arrival. Proof of disability and/or carer status may be required.
For under 16s requiring the assistance of a carer, the child has free entry, the adult pays standard entry price
There is an accessible lavatory by the tea room
There are no formal gardens open to the public at Firle Place. There are some beautiful walks through the wider estate.
We regret that picnics are not permitted anywhere in the house and grounds of Firle Place or in the park. The tables in the tea room and on the terrace are for the use of patrons only.
There is no access to St Peter's Church through the private gardens. However, visitors are welcome to walk through the park on the public footpath and into the village.
The Firle Place Tearoom and Terrace serves a range of light snacks, drinks, cakes and afternoon teas. The historic Ram Inn is our local village pub, serving lunch and dinner
